When most people think of Wisconsin Dells, they think of waterparks—and while those are worth the hype, there’s so much more to discover if you step just slightly off the beaten path.

From scenic adventures to unexpected attractions, here are a few hidden gems that deserve a spot on your itinerary:

1. Witches Gulch Hidden Gems in Wisconsin Dells

Witches Gulch is a narrow, scenic slot canyon in the Wisconsin Dells, characterized by towering sandstone cliffs and mossy, narrow passageways carved by water and wind.

Accessible only via the Upper Dells Boat Tours, this "Wonder of Wisconsin" offers a peaceful, shady boardwalk walk and features a concession stand and bathrooms at the end of the trail.

2. Wisconsin Dells Mountain Coaster

Set away from the typical waterpark scene, the Wisconsin Dells Mountain Coaster offers a completely different kind of experience.

This alpine coaster gives riders full control of their speed, making it easy to customize your ride. It’s a unique blend of thrill and scenery—and one that many visitors don’t discover until someone tells them about it.

3. Lost Canyon Tours

Two harnessed horses nuzzle under trees. A yellow "LOST CANYON" sign is visible in the background, creating a serene rural setting.

At Lost Canyon Horse Tours you enjoy the entire tour riding through a magnificent mile of cliff-walled gorges in comfortable yet quaint horse-drawn carriages which carry 15 passengers each. The trips take a half hour and begin on the south shore of Lake Delton.

4. Scenic River Walks & Overlooks

The Scenic River Walk in Wisconsin Dells is a free, 1/4-mile paved path downtown featuring stunning, year-round views of the Wisconsin River's sandstone bluffs, benches, and historic photos. It offers a quick, accessible, and serene getaway behind Main Street, complete with the "Soul of the River" art gallery and picnic spots.

5. Gem Mining at Wisconsin Dells Gem Adventures

If you haven’t visited recently, this is the season to do it. Wisconsin Dells Mountain Coaster is expanding beyond just thrills, it’s becoming a multi-experience attraction!
